Longest Winning Streak

In my league, the Boston Braves are on an incredible 18 game winning streak, this is by far the longest I've ever seen in the game. What's the best you've seen?

Just to give an update, the Boston Braves are still rolling and have now won an amazing 21 straight games, just 5 shy of the all-time MLB record of 26 set by the 1916 NY Giants. For the record, this is a computer controlled team in a historical sim using R/L transactions, so this is no super team created by raping the game's AI.

The Cards in 2012 on my season banged out a 20 gamer. They were 18-18 and then won 20 in a row.

They currently sit at 50-30. They seem like a .500 team that got hot.

Wow, amazing for an AI team to do that. Do they look extremely lucky, or is it stocked with superstar talent?

I just had one a while ago that stretched for 26 games. Not to upset you but it ended the very next game after I posted a similar thread. Hope yours runs a while longer, enjoy the run.

They have a really good team, but I wouldn't say they're loaded with superstars. Last season they blew a 4 game lead with 5 to play by losing all 5 games as Brooklyn won all 5 of theirs to snatch the pennant right out from under them. This year it seems, they're out for redemption. Here's they're batting order and starting rotation

1.Bill Salkeld-C .262, 7 HR, 32 RBI
2. Alvin Dark- SS .313, 1 HR, 23 RBI
3. Jeff Heath-LF .309, 15 HR, 58 RBI
4. Bob Elliott-3B .309, 7 HR, 44 RBI
5. Tommy Holmes-RF .277, 2 HR, 21 RBI
6. Elbie Fletcher-1B .268, 6 HR, 17 RBI
7. Jim Russell-CF .256, 5 HR, 21 RBI
8. Sibbi Sisti- 2B* .308, 1 HR, 14 RBI
*(regular 2B {Eddie Stanky .469, 1 HR, 7 RBI} injured for another week)

1. Warren Spahn- 15 starts
2. Johnny Sain- 14 starts
3. Vern Bickford- 12 starts
4. Bill Voiselle- 11 starts
5. Red Barrett- 4 starts

* Johnny Antonelli injured an elbow tendon and has 5 weeks left of a 2 month injury- he's started 7 games

22 was the longest I ever saw. In the first league I started (version 2006), using full minors the St. Lucie high-A Mets' farm team started the season 22-0, then extended to 25-1 before I promoted their three best pitchers to AA Binghamton and the roof fell in. They played .500 ball the rest of the way and went out in the first round of the playoffs (best of three, I think).

I'm on an 8 game win streak and I've gone from simming to playing each game now.

Hmmm. I mentioned yesterday in another thread that I had a six-game winning streak going, my longest of the season.

My team dropped the next two games 3-2 and 2-1 because the bats couldn't come through when it mattered.

Perhaps posting about a winning streak is a bad idea. . . .

Think I've had a 12 or 14 gamer before. . . 10 for sure, many times.

is there a way to check for team winning streaks?

right now my Chicago Fire is on an 11 game streak i believe the Fire's best is 145 games but San Diego is on a 17 game winning streak. The r historically a crappy team that did great in the free agent market and through some great trades.

Very cool, CF76. (I hope you avoid the curse of "I posted about my streak! And it ended the next game!")

My Berkeley Free Radicals, in a push for first place, rattled off 15 wins in a row to clinch the division with more than a week to play. Easily my longest winning streak. I think the longest I'd had before that was 6, but this time they kept coming up with the big hit when they needed it. A different hero every night is a fun way to win.

I once saw a team start 17-0 in a 28 game season I did once. I think they finished 24-4.

Would be a cool option if the game tracked franchis records like this such as longest win streak and longest losing streak.

I remember an old league I started up in Front Page Sports: Baseball Pro '98. The club I was following went 41-8 to start the season. (They cooled off the rest of the way, finishing with something like 106 wins if I remember correctly.)
