The Game Presents: All Time Greatest League

I haven't played the All Time Greatest Quickstart in several years. I want a long time sim with real players but i am usually not a fan of Random Debut. The Quickstart starts in 2014, so as time goes on I will add players 2014-2022 and other players.

I will of course play as the White Sox GM & MGR. I imported several real players and retired them for my staff. Scouting is 100%. So no scouts and no finances. I will try to add real MGRS & coaches for the other teams too but for now I am starting the league. Been working on jerseys & stuff for several hours.

Rules:
No finances
Scouting 100%
No NL DH
2014 rules apply
30 man rosters with 40 expanded. I might expand rosters August 1st in 2015 but for now it's September 1st.
174 G schedule 3H/3A vs all teams.

2015 will be an expansion year but with no expansion draft. I am adding the Expos & St Louis Browns. Browns will feature an all NeL greats. Expos will be any missing greats up to 2014 including several Nippon players. i am using the Project 32 jersey set.

I like my team but we will struggle vs several teams. I plan on playing everyone, so if players struggle i will move them to the Reserve Roster and bring up others. As players retire and my 40 man roster is under 40 players I will add other Sox players and same for other teams.

The Jays have some great players like 2b Robbie Alomar, 1b John Olerud, Lf Joe Carter, SS Tony Fernandez, DH Carlos Delgado, SP Roy Halladay, SP Jimmy Key, SP Dave Stieb, RP Tom Henke & RP Mike Timlin. They are predicted to win the East. We need to take 2 of 3 to establish ourselves. Overall we don;t have a ton of power outside of Thomas & Konerko. We do have great team speed and are solid on D.

We are predicted to win the AL Central. We have a solid team. I will try to play most of my 53 players on my roster throughout the season. I have a few players that could retire due to old age after this season. Ted Lyons is 38 and Hoyt Wilhelm is 42. Lyons may not finish the season as my Ace. McDowell, Sale & Buehrle could all take over that role. Foulke will start the season as the CL. Radinsky, Wilhelm & Thigpen will all get Save opportunities. Many players are in a platoon, whether it's RHP vs LHP or playing several days a week. I do lack depth on this team. Several players will have to learn to play other positions then their primary. I would like to get Baines into the lineup more often but Jackson is my RF and I have 4 Cf on my team.

It's going to be a fun season.

Aprils schedule isn't easy. Just 2 off days and we start vs 3 very tough AL East teams in TOR, BAL & NYY. MIA isn't a cakewalk but that should be an easier series. OAK will be tough. MLW has Yount & Molitor among others. HOU has the Killer B's. COL has the Toddfather but hopefully our Knucklers can handle the thin air.

Game #1 vs TOR W

The original Opening Day was rained out, so now we play a double header. Ted Lyons ran into problems out the gate but settled down nicely and pitched fairly well. Both Lee & Wilhelm pitched well. Foulke surrendered the lead then beaned White. Thigpen picked up the Win. Offensively we did well, especially late. Collins was able to run a lot on the battery of Halladay & Phelps. Big Hurt had a 3-4 game. Mostil chipped in 2 Hits. Shoeless Joe hit a game winning 2 run HR to the #108 pole.

HR: Jackson (1)

SB: Collins 2 (2) Mostil (1)

Red Faber was wild but effective, Rads came in to face 1 batter and he reached base. Santos gave the game away. Thigpen pitched well in both games of the DH. We struggled vs Jimmy Key and just could not get in a groove. Janssen & Ward shut us down.

Big Ed Walsh scattered 7 Hits and gave up 2 ER. Matt Thornton was injured while pitching. I brought up Forester & Locker in place of Wilhelm & Santos and they both did really poorly. Wood also came up and pitched OK. We hit well vs Wells, until he came out with an injury, Quantrill & Eichorn. We did very little vs Timlin and nothing vs Ward.

SB: Minoso (1)

We lose 2 of 3 to Toronto.

The Orioles play at Camden Yards and they are off to a 2-1 start. Great defense, especially at 3b, SS, C, Lf, CF, Rf. They dont have a ton of team speed, Roberts is the only true threat to run. Great Rotation of Palmer, Mussina, McNally. Above average bullpen. Good power in Frank Robinson, Powell, Murray & Dempsey. Sisler & Roberts will be on base often.

Wilhelm & Thigpen have returned with Forester & Locker going back to the RR. Wood stays for now.
