NFL thoughts - Week 4

Only one thing to say: Dak Prescott could become a star in a Tom Brady situation.

I would love to see him do well. But that would mean Cowboy fans would come scurrying from the rocks they hide under when Dallas is mediocre. There are no more obnoxious NFL fans in the state of NC than bandwagon Cowboy fans........

......When is the last time Eli Manning didn't throw an INT?..........

......Every time I see Ryan Tanneyhill, I'm amazed he's never in a preseason competition for the starting job. Does anyone in Miami's front office ever consider he is the problem?.........

......How can you be a San Diego fan & not slit your wrists every game? Attending a Charger game every Sunday is like attending church. Either place, you're going to end up yelling "Jesus Christ!".................

.....Anyone find it low class that ESPN continues to do "C'mon Man!" after firing Chris Carter?...............

......As soon as everyone questioned why Jeff Fisher still has a job, the Rams won 3 in a row. Two vs their main competition in the NFC West. I still say he's mediocre. They are taking advantage of other team's screwups. The opposite of San Diego...........

..........To again emphasize how good Philly's D has been....Pittsburgh scored 3 vs the Eagles. They are averaging almost 5 touchdowns vs everybody else..........

......Vikings play the most ugly, sleep-inducing games in the NFL. I'm sure they are just fine with that...........

.......I try not to say hate. So I really, really, really dislike Matt Ryan...........

......C'mon fans....Do we really need to beat up other fans just because they root for another team?.......

I don't really have a problem with Dallas winning since they are in the NFL. Only problem is that we would have to listen to Skip Bayless even more.

We do? The only time I'm forced to listen to that moron is when ads for his show pop up during a game on FaOuX. I give him about as much attention as America gives the Libertarian candidate.

I was listening to Cowherd last week and he and his guest (I forget who, sorry) basically put it like this: Fisher teams manage to get 2-3 unexplainable good wins every year. But they still somehow end up 7-9. So you end up both impressed and befuddled at the same time. Like you're 3-1 but you didn't score a TD in the first two games.

I think he'll have a pretty long leash in LA. They are just happy to have a team right now, winning is gravy, he has USC ties, yada yada.

Yeah, like Cobra this isn't a problem for me. As far as I'm concerned, he's just Rick Bayless' brother.

I'm wondering if the Seahawks could turn to Romo as a short term QB solution with Wilson hurting. It could solve a problem for both teams.

That would solve the problem for one snap.

I'm a Cowboys fan and I can honestly say they had no business winning that game against the Eagles. We have nothing to brag about. We played evenly or better up until the point Dak threw the pick in the endzone. From that point on it was all Eagles all the way to midway through the 4th when they decided they did not want to win. Probably why their last NFL championship was 1960. Still better than the Jets which have none.

Yeah, but not the NFL Championship. That was a week prior between the Colts and Browns. It was just not called the Super Bowl at that time. All the Jets won is an AFL Championship and a glorified exhibition game called the Super Bowl between the two teams that won their league championship games.

Keep in mind they were two separate leagues. They did not merge yet. SB 3 was akin to the Super Bowl winner in the NFL playing a game against the league Champions of the USFL. The Jets can't win an NFL league championship title if they're not in the NFL.

Go back and look at the list of NFL Champions as far as you like. For the first 4 super bowls you'll see.....

Green Bay
Green Bay
Baltimore
Minnesota

The first super bowl that actually counted as an NFL championship is SB5.

Super Bowl era

Teams winning the NFL Championship during these years move onward to compete in the first four Super Bowls. The Green Bay Packers continued on to win the first two Super Bowls. The latter two teams, the Baltimore Colts and Minnesota Vikings, lost in their respective Super Bowls. These two losing teams are still credited with the NFL Championship in their official record. However, they are not considered as world champions.

No. The Jets never played for the NFL championship.
