How far back will BTS go in historical play?
That is my question. 2000? The 90s? The drive? The catch? Holy roller? Ghost to the Post? Immaculate reception? The merger? The guarantee? The super bowl era? The emergence of the AFL? Jim Brown? Johnny U Greatest game ever played? Red Grange?

For the foreseeable future BTS will focus exclusively on the present because the rules of the game have been changed dramatically over the decades. You cannot simply use the same simulation engine for all those different eras. OOTP is a different story because baseball has remained pretty much the same. |

I'm hoping for historical play even if it's by today's rules. I've always enjoyed going back in time a bit and taking charge of a team and drafting my way to see what might have happened. Hopefully they will figure out a way to allow this to happen even if the rules don't match 100%

You could probably take it back to 1970. Other than some rules tweaks (and the offensive and defensive changes in strategy to take advantage of those tweaks), the game itself hasn't really changed all that much.
