Bullpenning

I'm sure it has been tried out there but like to hear about some of the results by those who have tried bullpenning with their club using a team in today's times.

Did you set a four man rotation? How many pitchers did you cap your starter at? Did you use a traditional 13 batters, 12 pitchers roster?

10 pitchers, 15 batters.

Here's how I work pitch counts:

Rookie - 75
Low A - 80
High A - 85
Double A - 90
Triple A - 95
MLB - 100+ (I stop them at 115)

If a pitcher makes the cut to achieve any level, their count goes up. If they descend, so does their count.

I work a four or five man rotation, depending on depth mostly, and then when expansion comes, I work a six man rotation, and I attempt to bring up every pitcher with call ups from Triple A into the rotation, to give my starters time off.

From my perspective, late August and September are a treasure trove of injuries, and I like to avoid it with the Aces as much as I can.

Pitchers that make the call up stay at 95, until they produce starts that suggest they're ready to move up. They stay at 100 at the MLB level until they've landed in the rotation permanently, at which point they can work up to 115. I don't take anyone above that number.

If I had the option, I'd be insuring arms too.
