Traded Player salary appearing on two payrolls?

I inherited an online league. I did not initiate this, but would love a solution.

PLAYER traded from one team to another for a player and CASH (specified to pay down salary). Not exactly sure how this was treated.

PLAYER is on the team to which he was traded and in their rotation.
PLAYER'S NAME AND CONTRACT is listed on both team's payroll - Contract dollars this year and pending Arb next.
This is not listed as the new retained salary, appears as same player being paid same way on both teams, yet playing for the one.

I am less concerned with how this happened as with how to correct the problem and have him appear only on the payroll of the acquiring team. But it would also be good to know how not to replicate the error again too.

And from now on I will handle cash as strictly that in a trade AND retained salary to pay partial contracts (even though I expect to encounter GM's that want to pay down ONLY a portion of a year or two of a longer contract. But that's a different issue.

Any ideas on how to FIX this?

If a player is traded with retained salary, he should show up on both reports, but there should be markers or notes on his salary as to which portion each team is responsible for.

Thanks for the response Matt.
I was hoping it was the new retain salary, but it simply appears as same player on two payrolls, even though he plays only for RANGERS in this case.

Again, how to fix this would be my first priority.

Trying not to do this again (however it occurred with the previous Commissioner) would be a distant second.

And the Miller history.
Trade from AZ actually a trade removed from where he is now? Weird.
No salary associated with CIN btw.

I know before the recent patch, there were a couple cases where I believe if a player had his salary retained but then went through arbitration, we would not properly clear out the retained salary portion for his previous team, so that seems likely what would have happened here.

In the editor page for the player, there's a button to "clear all salary retentions" which I believe should clear up the above case. I would suggest trying that out for Miller and I believe that should remove him from Arizona's list.

Perfect!
Cleared the Miller salary from AZ.

Appreciate this very much Matt.
