Throw Outs on Double Attempts

Does this ever happen in this game? I don't remember the last time seeing a runner getting thrown out at second attempting a double.

funny, i think there are posts saying the opposite about these pop-up window choices in game.

one the game pops up these 1-off questions, it's only for sitautions that are "close" -- however ootp defines that.

point is, it's not going to give you a clear picture of "normal" to infer anything about % success of league-wide results. they won't match up, inhrently.

i would base it on results of those situation with experience... it's still correlated to speed/runing skill and fielder's arm. the question is only asked when there is a slimmer room for error.

Yes, I relentlessly double-steal with runners on 1st and 2nd and have seen the slow guy at 2B thrown out over 3B.

I have seen a batter thrown out at Second base a coupel of times. Typically there were runners on base that scored when I saw it. I wasn't asked if I wanted to stretch (try for second).

Personally I think the game should always ask the manager/coach befotre attempting a running advance that may result in an out. And an indication of what percent chance of being safe (very high, high, medium, low, and very low) woudl be a great improvement. I think alot of time the chance to score from third is very high but when faced with a strong outfield arm it can be low. I woudl be nice to have an indication.

The one animation that I have never seen an out on is the passed ball or wild pitch one. The catcher always runs back to retrieve the ball and throws it to the pitcher covering home and the runner is always called safe, no matter what.

it doesn't happen often but occasionally it will happen ... If I had to guess without doing any research I would say it might happen 5 to 10 times the entire season total. Also a few times possibly for attempts at triples.

On OOTP I see the triples being thrown out more often than the doubles

Don't have any official records concerning this... but it doesn't seem to happen often enough.

I only play out the last three innings of each game, so I can control relief pitchers rather than the AI.

I only see it happen every two weeks or so in my games.

Just once in a blue moon!

I think I have seen it in the past but it’s been a while.
