Game got lost after 4/25 update

I updated to the 4/25 update and not only is the opening screen telling me I need to purchase the game and submit my serial number, but I purchased the game from apple and I dont see the serial number in question.

I tried to contact support on the website but it wont let me so I am appealing to the powers that be on the forum.

Can someone please let me know how I can fix this issue and use OOTP 19?

Important: This update is only for OOTP 19 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version.
It is NOT compatible with the Steam, Origin or Mac OSX AppStore version! The Steam update is available via the Steam client, the Origin update will be available via the Origin client within 24 hours and the Mac AppStore version is pending review at Apple, which will take 1-2 days.

So are you saying I lost my game now? I usually only download updates from App Store-am I screwed here or will my receipt of purchase enable me to download again?

You can get the update, when available, from wherever you purchased the game. The receipt or original license should work fine with the appropriate update.

But when I log onto the App Store now to update it is charging me to pay for it like its a new game. I think I messed something up but good. Not sure how to proceed bc I am not wanting to buy this a second time

Are you sure it’s the update? If it is, and you’re having difficulties, you’ll need to contact Apple’s support I think. Failing that, PM or email Lukas for direction.

logged in under different user name to storre? once you figure that out:

delete and re-install BUT, don't delete the "saved_game" folder

it almost certainly should still exist even if you installed 2 different versions.. no worries. patchs and even initial installs do not delete these things nor touch them in any way. you'd have to delete it for it to be gone. your saved game is 99% likely there except in cases of hardware failure, which is unlikely.

re-install from the apple store (or wherever you originally got it, of course) oh, maybe unlicense it before you uninstall too, just in case. make sure you have the code, of course, if that needs to be said.

if stil unseen... use whatever mac's equivalent is to "search" and find the location of your league ("<name>.lg" - if same as pc version) -- then either change data directory to match or simply point it to that directory when loading a league)

Really dont understand this much at all-I cant reinstall from the apple store bc it is telling me I have to buy it again. Not sure if that makes sense to you but that is what I am dealing with at the moment

that you have to handle through the apple store. you likely paid by credit card and can verify purchase with them .

unless you deleted intentionally, it is most likely still there. re-installing or patching should not delete anything.

just don't delete teh "aved_games" directory and all will be well once you get the apple store stuff worked out.

Problem solved.

Went to the purchase tab in the App Store and it installed the update over what I had in there so all is well.

Thank you guys for your help. In the future in my scenario just tell them to go into the purchase tab in the App Store and it will say install-click it and thats all she wrote.

Thats all there is to it.
