Do AI managers consider stats when making lineups?

I ask because I have recently had to go back to managing my team myself in my game after being the GM only for 8 seasons because the way the manager was filling out the lineups and bullpen roles was driving me insane. For example, my 1B and DH were barely OPS'ing at .600 for the first half the season and the manager would still keep them in the middle of the order. I get that their ratings are high, but since they are in prolonged slumps, maybe move them down until they get their mojo back? Just an idea. Another example, I get that my 80 overall closer is supposed to be a beast, but he is not performing like it, so maybe move him out of that role?

I like the realism of being GM only, but when my manager makes (or doesn't make in this case) any moves at all at the detriment of the team, it drives me insane. So does the AI manager consider stats, or is it just based on ratings when it comes to lineups and bullpen roles?

They do consider stats, but how much will depend on what your Player Evaluation AI Settings are set as. It will also depend on sample size, the AI knows not to read too much into a bad start to a season. I am not sure whether it considers things like hot streaks and cold streaks...it doesn't tend to tinker much with the lineup like a human manager may be more apt to do.

Adjust AI evaluation to consider stats more. But know that they will use OVR to decide who starts and who is sent down. Individual ratings will still be a factor on what order they will hit at for the most part.

No it’s just under the the settings that also have trade difficulty.

As with setting lineups based on Sabr or traditional.

Traditional bases lineups on overall individual ratings while Sabr bases lineups on L/R rating spilts. OVR decides whether the person is starting or on the active roster. Other factors like Manager/GM preferences also have some effect.
