Trading Bug Possibly?
So Josh Donaldson's contract is for 23,000,000 and yet I could get him and it would only cost my budget a little over 8 million. Can someone explain this to me?
Hopefully it is not a bug. In addition, my budget has gotten bigger. |

Does anyone know what is going on? Is this something that happens in the MLB or a bug? I could really use some help.

How far into the season are you? If it's a mid-season trade it will pro-rate the contract for what's left for the season so that may explain it.

July, near the trade deadline. Is it possible to explain it more? If not, I understand.

Of course! Since you're in late July, the player has been paid over half of his salary so far. When you trade for him, you're only taking on what hasn't been paid yet because the rest is what the player made playing for his original team which you obviously wouldn't have to pay.
So if it's game 81 of 162, you would be on the hook for exactly 50% of the salary or $11,500,000. Hope that makes a little more sense! |
