Negotiation bug?

I’ve got Auston Matthews text reading he’s sorry and going to look to sign offer sheets, but his negotiation mood is still happy. I’ve also never sent an offer and only asked for a response once.

There's likely still a negotiation open with him dating back to when you asked for a response - check the Open Offers section of the Free Agent Centre screen. If he's still happy, he may still allow you a signing attempt. Worse case, you can make a qualifying offer and retain your right to match offers to him.

Thanks, despite giving him the term and money he wants it still says he will test restricted free agency and wait for an offer sheet. Once July 1st comes will I be able to negotiate again or how long after will he holdout?

It varies, but most likely he'll be willing to negotiate again within a month or so. But given that it's Matthews, he'll probably be offer sheeted by that point and you'll have to match.
