All-Star Ted Simmons 1977 or All-Star Mike Piazza 1998

Which one should I buy. Any recommendations?

3,500 PP

Piazza Ratings:

Ted Simmons. Mike Piazza's gold cards don't play the position all that well, so they're more of a DH variety. Ted Simmons isn't great at catcher, but I suppose he's playable if you have a defense-oriented backup.

All else being equal, I'd go with Simmons. Their offense ratings are close enough, but Simmons has a slight edge defensively and is cheaper.

Simmons was the best choice he's also a switch hitter which should help.

I have noticed that every catcher i have checked running 19/20 side by side has taken a dive in there overall catcher ratings (and each element)
Sorry to everyone if i am supposed to create a new thread for this.

So Ted Simmons catching rating isn't as bad as it seems compared to the drop i see in others.
