Too Many Back-to-Backs
I started a new standard game and added the Seattle Totems right from the beginning. When it generated the schedule, there were a ton of back-to-backs. I figured it was due to a compressed schedule for some reason and didn't really think about it until season 2. Same thing again, 26 back-to-backs in the season. I spot checked some other teams and they all seem to be affected, so I guess it's fair though I expect some goalies to drop dead from exhaustion if it goes on too much longer.

There is a ton of back to back also few years into the game, even if you don't expand the league. This should be fixed for FHM 7. |

Back to Backs happen because the NHL has to play on such a tight schedule. If the season goes too long, there's unintended consquences with other events going on as well.
The average team played around 15 this year (or were suppose to), so it does seem like a lot, but there was a few teams with 18 or 19 this year I believe. If you regenerate the schedule a few times it will likely lower it, but you'll still see around 20-22 on average. It is something teams have to deal with, but that's why you have a 23 player roster. |

Yeah, it's not that big of a deal. As long as most of the teams are getting hammered with the back-to-backs so it stays fair, it's not so bad. It does make it more important to have a good backup goalie. I'm not sure the AI has figured that out though, so I might have an unfair advantage. |
