Star NHL Players Signing for Less Money in Less Reputable Leagues

Jordan Binnington was asking for 10+ mil per year for 5 years. I never put in an offer because it didn't really fit with my team, but a few days into free agency he signed a 2 mil deal to a KHL team for one year. Can suspend my disbelief that he would sign with the KHL, but not in a way that is so far off his original asking price. I would have signed him for well over that if I knew he was going to come down on his asking price.

This isn't the first weird roster move I've seen (RFAs holding out all year when asking for like 4 mil), but at this point, by far the most odd thing I've seen.

He should actually be far above the threshold for taking that kind of contract, a certain level of player will never voluntarily drop down to anythng below the top league. I'm wondering if some other change in the game compromised that check, we'll have a look at it. Is the KHL set to playable in your game? That makes a small difference in the exact mechanics (it still shouldn't happen either way, but that'll give me a clue as to where the problem is.)

I enabled all the leagues, so the KHL is definitely playable. The only thing I can think of is that this is a save I started during the open beta a few days before the official release. I know some patched items only take affect with new saves. Not saying that is the case here, but might be useful information.

No, it should've been working then, too, it's not a recent addition - two or three years old, at least. But if it's a playable league, that lets me know which system isn't at fault, so that'll narrow down the search quite a bit.
