Error when importing historical player

In both custom and regular start saves, the game crashes upon any attempt to import a historical player.

I can select a player from the drop-down menu, but the year is locked and when I try to hit ok or cancel, the game crashes.

Are you on the most up-to-date version of the game?

Is there a particular player you're trying, or does it happen with all of them? If it's all of them, it may be a problem with the historical database - try starting a historical game, and if it crashes then, you'll probably need to reinstall (or verify file integrity in Steam) to fix whatever's happened to those files.

I am on the most current version yes.

So I verified files and even uninstalled then re-installed the game (I am on Steam), and it still gives the same error even on historical mode.

Could you upload save (instructions here) where it's doing that? Importing is working fine when I test it, I'm wondering if it's something in the data that's a problem or if it's something else entirely.
