Please help...game won't save anymore, something about databse sql files. Pics included

I hadn't bought OOTP in a few years, but I recently built a new high-end desktop and was looking to jump back into some games. I bought beta access and had errors right off the bat, and they've only continued now with the full version. I'm really not happy right now. So the problem is, whenever I go to exit the game, or save a game I get two messages, one right after the other. See the pictures here

It was doing this for the first couple days, but oddly when I would start up OOTP and then go to 'continue game' it would at least load fine. Then I played a bunch last night, tried to save, got the usual weird messages....and then today when I went to load the game it hadn't saved any of my progress. I tried again today testing it by simming a few weeks, and then saving, and getting those weird messages, and again it's not actually saving.

Any ideas? The path the game is saved in doesn't have any weird characters, I have 6TB of free space, and I have no weird settings or anything, it's just a generic OOTP install.

edit: UGH, now it's saying it can't load ANY of the games I have, they all say database corrupt. I can't believe this. What is wrong with this years version of the game?

For awhile I was having a problem with OOTP 19 not saving, and I think I was getting similar errors. Drove me crazy!

The thing that solves it for me, was to start the game by right clicking i the program, and running it as administrator. I've done that in both versions since, and never had the issue again.

Not sure if your problem is the same one I had, but hope it works.

I found this in the bug forums... not sure if this will help you or not?

The way to work around this is to use a different data path.

To do so, open "Game settings" -> "Experts" tab and select another data path for OOTP like for example c:\ootp20

Then restart OOTP and it should work. You may need to move over your saved games to the new datapath location to restore those.
