Greatest Teams of All Time Question by a rookie

Hi There,

Hope everyone is well. Just downloaded OOTP and trying to watch as many videos and do as much reading to understand all the nuances. I really appreciate the amount of work this community puts into this game and helping each other out.

I just read a bunch of helpful threads to get my first season start off the ground using the ALL TIME Best Teams from every franchise. I selected the Mets and see that there are 50 historical players I can select from. 2 Questions....

1) Most of the players faces look nothing like the player (i,e,,African American players are Caucasian, guys having Rollie Fingers mustaches even though they never had a moustache, to guys having wrong jersey numbers...etc. Since the option to use All Time is on the actual game interface as a drop down option and not a mod I imported, I was wondering why that is and if going forward in any type of league/team/season, are player images just one of those it is what it is situations? I see an option where you can make a few facial, hair, skin alterations...and it goes without saying that I know this is not MLB the Show....however just wanted to know if this is standard what I am seeing? Do only the current players from 2019/2020 resemble what they actually look like or does every customer always have to manually edit their appearance?

2) I was able to figure out how to select my 25/30 man roster from the 50 Mets players. If there is a player I would like to add that is not listed under "players" can someone kindly tell me how to go about finding that player and then how to add him to my roster? I read if you create a custom league from scratch that there are ways to import specific players from any decade, but with the season I selected using best players from every franchise, I would appreciate some guidance on the steps I need to do to add addition players to my team?

I found this video on line...my search function didn't work but I used the baseball ref player ID and it worked perfect. I added Willie Randolph to the Yankees all time team.
