reinstating inactive team

I'm 20-30 years into a historical simulation as a general manager - currently of the New York Yankees.

At or near the 2016-17 offseason, my AAA affiliate was changed to "inactive". I didn't do it - I just noticed one day that I didn't have a AAA team.

What's strange is that another team in the same league with the same name (but no history) was listed - as the AAA affiliate of the Red Sox.
Stranger still, the actual Red Sox AAA affiliate (in the same league) wasn't affected.

I can certainly change the affiliation of the "new" team back to the Yankees, but I'd prefer to make the "old" team active again and delete the new team.

Is there any way to do this?

... to mean that a new team, one with no history, is listed as the AAA affiliate of the Red Sox. And that it is named the same as the now-inactive & former affiliate of the Yankees. And then this...

... as indicating that the "actual Red Sox AAA team" is the team that was - and currently remains - their AAA team, meaning that the Red Sox currently have two AAA teams?

Correct? Or?

Yeah, it's confusing. Here's another way to explain it:

In 2016
- the Red Sox have Pawtucket (full history)
- the Yankees have Moosic (full history)
- both teams are in the International League

Somewhere after the 2016 season:
- the Red Sox have Pawtucket (full history)
- the Red Sox have Moosic (no history)
- Both teams are in the International League
- the Yankees have no International League team or AAA affiliate
- International League history shows an inactive Moosic team that WAS the Yankees' affiliate through 2016
