Loaded Save Game to Null Screens

Hey everyone

Couple weeks ago I put together a custom Pro/Rel league with MLB and Minor League Baseball. Was going really well, year 3 with Asheville(5th season of the sim overall) had just started, and I was tearing the cover off the ball. Whole team was geared up to not only win High A ball in year one, but challenge up the ladder.

Tuesday, I saved the game to go shower and watch the third period of the hockey game. When I reloaded when they went to Overtime, this is what the screens looked like.

Is the entire save corrupt? History, players, and financials are all wiped. I did look in the save folder and it seems like everything is there, including team logos and uniforms. I've never seen anything like that. I saved like normal, which is funny because I almost saved by exiting but wanted to make sure nothing happened.

Help!

Sorry that happened! I believe that this is related to a weird and rare issue we fixed a few patches ago. So for the future, you might want to make sure to be updated to the latest patch, if you aren't already.

For now, if you can upload your league files as per my sig or even just put them on Dropbox/Google Drive and post a link, we'll take a look at them and see if we can fix them up for you.

Thank you so much! I have uploaded my DAT files onto the ftp folder, they're titled "MLB ProRel.lg - MichaelDanger19"

Well I never heard back about this error.

But my new save is now broken too.

I got to a point 4 years in my save starting in 1965. I never exited from my game last night. I had planned to expand but never got back to the game after making logos. Expanded manually and set it up. Then hit sim until expansion draft and the game crashed. Lost the 1968 season, which had a crazy championship.

But anyway, I set up the expansion teams again and saved. Did the expansion draft, then hitting sim until the rule 5 draft, the game crashed.

Loaded up the save from the expansion draft for the second time. Then after I was ready to move forward, I hit the continue button, and the game crashed.

I can't move forward any more.

I uploaded it as Michaeldanger19-Professional League.lg in the ftp folder you gave me.

if the game crashed - and you haven't advanced any days - possibly using "Auto Restore" may help get your game back. Here's a link - think it's still valid - on how to use auto-restore ..... best of luck.

For the 2nd issue, the auto-save mentioned above should do the trick.

For the original issue, I'll have to go back and double check to see what we found when looking at the file. It's been a fairly busy last couple months and it seems like this kind of slipped through the cracks. Sorry about that!

I appreciate the reply. I tried the above trick on the new issue, and never got the message "letting you know it's cleaning up text files", but it loaded the game and crashed hitting continue same as before.

I did try the same trick to the original issue because the timestamp for autosave was about a half hour sooner than the dat files in the parent folder. But loading that up did the same thing without the message, and ended up with the blank team screen.

Also sorry if I came across as rude bumping the old thread, I totally understand how busy the devs are. Just trying to stay organized!

No, not rude at all. In fact, if we ever don't get back to you on something like this, feel free to bump it sooner or even send a direct message to me or whoever replied. It can be super helpful to us in making sure things don't slip through the cracks!

On the second issue, I noticed something super weird which is that if you play ahead by hitting 'finish day' the game does not crash. It only seems to crash when you try to sim ahead multiple days by using the 'sim to' functions.

I couldn't immediately find why that might be happening, so I've asked some of the other tech guys/devs to take a look as well and hopefully we'll have something for you on that soon.

Getting back to the original issue, do you still have a save/backup of that from before the problem happened? If so, I'd recommend making sure you're on the latest patch and then simming through using that, which should hopefully keep this from happening again. Otherwise though, I'm not sure the issue is fixable from the file we have from after the problem, unfortunately.

Ok, so looks like the playoff setup is causing a crash in the sim page.

So you can either go day by day through the rest of the off-season, or go to File->settings, they can switch to the simple dialog for auto-play and that should take you through things without a crash as well.

Oh wow, that did work for me. This was the first year to introduce more than a top 2 playoffs, and maybe got a little too cute with the format. Thanks so much.

The original one, i tested the backup files and it didnt help so i think that one is toast unfortunately.
