Starting a GM session as an expansion team?

This may be the wrong section for this, if so i'm sorry. But my question is, is there a way to start a General Manager session as an expansion team?

It is always better to sim a few seasons and then expand. While you theoretically could start off by expanding, it has never worked well for me or anyone else who has posted about it. The minor league expansions and schedules won't work at all unless you do it manually, for example.

So sim at least one season, then expand.

How would i go about doing an expansion? I can't seem to find the settings for it? Also, can it be done in challenge mode?

The OOTP 21 manual is always your friend. Here's the page on League Expansion. This page and the associated links should tell you what you need to know. As far as challenge mode goes, I don't know the answer to that question, but I doubt it's an option.
