I finally started messing around with the team needs section under the trade options. I've added that I needed good SS, C, SP prospects plus a good current SP. The offers I've received have been amazing. When I've had no team needs listed, I'd always get laughable offers. Since I set my needs at the start of the offseason, I've actually made 4 trades that started from the AI reaching out!!

Just today I checked SP for team needs. I put a middle infielder up for trade. Well....I can't believe the quantity and quality of players that were offered to me. So I chose an older SP as my starting point. That's all I wanted. For the heck of it I went to EVERY level of their minors and added their top player to the list. Well....there was no counter offer !!! I could have had the SP and 5 of their best prospect. So this may be a glitch that needs attention.

In my experience with custom leagues, regarding roster maintenance there are two "philosophies" of AI managers / GMs that have always stood out:

a leaning toward getting rid of more players than they acquire
30 is the point of inflection for players' ages where they flip from "desirable" to "un-".

My league's FA list is invariably littered with quality unsigned veterans and the trading block is always full of guys 30 and over.

So if you haven't put an age limit on the players you are seeking, I'm not surprised you are getting inundated with offers.

It is at this deeper level I believe the glitch, if any, exists. Although OOTP seems to have predicted IRL trends in this regard.
