understandingfinances and values

So I'm looking at a free agent but i'm not sure what he is asking is a fair price for what he is asking with his salary. I'm not sure if this is fair for what he is asking for. He is asking 20 mill a year, cont68 mov64 control48 and in leaugue settings it says a typical superstar is worth 20 mill but it doesnt seound like he is a super star but it seems everyone is asking above what the settings compare it all to.....so is this generally how things work or what type of expectations should i have?

The salaries given for star, average, etc, seem to be more of "starts at" than averages.

Concerning 20 million, how many years does he want and how old is he?

Can't say much else about the salary. I don't have any experience with a 20 million salary. I don't play modern baseball.

Also if a good player is a free agent it will cost you more to sign him than if you already have him under contract and you are offering an extension.

I like to start in 1951 and play to about 2000 (all under modern rules). The numbers get bigger but players act the same.

So what if the players make money. Do you know any industry other than top level professional sports where almost no business ever looses money?
