Winter Leagues Quickstart
Winter League Baseball Quickstart Version 1
I'm releasing my first version of a quickstart containing ONLY winter leagues set to Major Leagues because these leagues usually retain the same roster, trade between each other, etc. This is not possible in the current state of the game so I made this. Here's what it has: - Liga Profesional de la República Dominicana (Dominican Republic) - Liga de Beisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente (Puerto Rico) - Liga Mexicana del Pacifico (Mexico) - Serie Nacional de Baseball (Cuba) - Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional (Venezuela) - Liga Colombiana de Beisbol Profesional (Colombia) - Liga de Beisbol Profesional de Panamá (Panama) - Liga de Beisbol Profesional Nacional (Nicaragua) - Most current rosters* - Logos and colors** - Correct schedule lengths with modified starting dates. The leagues will now start earlier, 1 week to a month, due to the game resetting schedules and other stuff when Jan 1st is reached. - League total modifiers adjusted using real stats gathered from official websites. - Association: Confederación de Beisbol Profesional del Caribe w/ Association playoffs to emulate Caribbean Series. - Arizona Fall League: I decided to include this one since every once in a while an American player will venture further south. Usually it's not the best of prospects so maybe adding the AFL will help emulate this. Plans for v2: - Player historical stats Notes: *I checked the official league websites for rosters. Since many leagues were canceled this year, they may not be 100% accurate but they're as accurate as I can get them. Incomplete rosters mean the players on the team are not found in-game. **Again, these are mostly from the official websites but I don't know how accurate they are. The only league I can say is 99% accurate is the Mexican Pacific League. Download here (Google Drive) |

Good project but no MLB League so can't use them as a Tournament.

Yeah, they're intended to be used as stand-alone leagues. Think of it as the "Caribbean Series Universe" or something like that. The reasoning behind this is that these leagues generally retain the same rosters year to year. They hold drafts for new prospects and all. So when the summer leagues are over, the players report to the same team every year unless traded or something. Also, this isn't possible with how the game currently handles winter leagues so normally this + the Caribbean Series wouldn't be possible. |

Could when adding Arizona Fall League to a MLB League could change it from Winter League to something else.

In real life, how do winter league contracts work? Are they one-year deals and the players can choose to return to the same team or not the following winter, or do players come back to the same teams because they sign multi-year contracts?
I would like to set up real-life winter leagues in my universe, but with fictional players who are free to play elsewhere in summer. In the current OOTP setup, that would require one-year contracts? |

Disclaimer: I can only speak of the LMP as that's the one I know. Firstly, there's a draft where the teams get to pick upcoming mexican and foreign talents that decide they want to play in the league. Then they get signed to lifetime contracts pretty much. There's no free agency per se, they can only change teams when traded or if the team that drafted them decides they don't want then. Another deciding factor is whether or not the parent clubs allow the players to come, this happens especially with Major Leaguers (ie Sergio Romo and Roberto Osuna with Charros, etc) With the current OOTP setup it's very hard to set up the kind of winter leagues that exist in the Caribbean Association. It could be possible if you set up the WL as being able to select any player and then manually select the rosters each year, but I consider that to be much more work than it's worth. Anyway if you have further questions or want help with anything, feel free to DM me. |

technically it should be possible to do winter leagues as tournaments (I think) but I'm afraid that creating something like that is way above my pay grade. I am hoping this can be done by the development team at some juncture.
