Steam Deck

I know it may be too early to ask this question, but do we know if OOTP / FHM will be compatible with the Steam Deck when it's released? Both games are available on steam, so in theory should work, but may not be practical with the two joystick set up of the Steam Deck? Just wondering if this was something that had been spoken about or considered?

I'm interested as well. Even if in the portable state they don't work maybe with the Steam deck being docked it will.

OOTP is Linux native, so it should work.
Not sure if the sticks or trackpads will be good for the UI navigation.
The hardware and Proton layer should work just fine for actually running the game.

Yes, it also has USB-C and Valve is working on an official dock and you can use any existing USB-C dock/hub

At that point, it just turns into a mid-level gaming laptop. But it fully supports Bluetooth keyboards, mice, game controllers, headphones, speakers etc
It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB-C as I said.
It is a pretty impressive piece of hardware.

I have one on order and hope to get it before the year is out.

I was just reading that you'll be able to install Windows on it as well, although the drivers aren't all ready yet.

Yes, if the entire project fails and they stop supporting it, then you can format it and run it off a dock and use it as a mid-level laptop

Or you can dual boot it. But Windows does not like it being dual-booted.

The Linux Proton could be a game-changer for breaking up the Windows strangle hold on PC gaming.

OOTP is available through Steam, so I see no reason why it won't work.
Will be interesting.

I just got my steam deck yesterday and ootp23 installed just fine.
I am having an issue on how to setup online leagues.
I have quick join codes, but no way to copy and paste them into OOTP23 when in gaming mode on the deck.

Anyone have any ideas?
If I get it to work, I will post back here how I did it.

From what I am experiencing, you do not have a way to paste the quick join code into the game when you start up OOTP.
If you put the Steam Deck into desktop mode, you can install the game manually, but I do not have a way yet using the quick join code.

I know this is in the OOTP22 forums, but just keeping guys in the loop.

I got OOTP23 to work.
I hooked up an external keyboard and mouse using a USB-C hub.
You have to go into Desktop mode on the Steam Deck, but that worked great.
You could either use a quick join link that you copy and paste from your email or for leagues using Stats + and you can download the latest league's .zip file from there and set them up manually.
