Free Agency - AI

So I've just played through my first full season of OOTP GO, and there were some pretty odd free agency decisions made by the AI, monster contracts (20 mil plus) being handed out to average/bench/rotation type guys and some teams just signing reliever after reliever to the point where when rosters were cut after spring training, I could literally have filled an entire Bullpen on waiver pick ups of 3.5/4 star relievers.

I've not yet finished a full season of OOTP 22, but does that sound like a familiar occurrence to what free agency is like on the pc version too? I'm assuming the mobile version is a pretty cut down version of the depth of free agency from the desktop version, but I was pretty disappointed to see some really unusual moves being made by the AI, which I'm hoping is just down to the fact it's a mobile game and the pc version is much better?
