Same old, same old...

After another week at the Diamond level with every team having the same players... all the more reason to never want to buy those players. I've decided there is no reason to want to go back there. I wouldn't spend a penny on "perfect points" just to be able to buy the same team as everybody else. Whoop-de-do what fun.
I'll let my team muddle along with players I think measue up without buying Johnson, Koufax, Speaker, Collins and the rest of the annointed few.
Your team can have players with numbers just as good as the "annointed players" but that won't matter. Neither does actual baseball sense. Yeah, I know, its a game... but not one based in any sort of baseball reality.
Maybe its easier to just annoint 3 or 4 pitchers and 3 or 4 hitters and try to get everyone to buy them, even though the same player wont play the same on teams that are almost identical to another.
Someday the OOTP gods may realize that a variation in the number of good players could producer more decision making and different combinations of players that make for more interesting games and challenge you to try different player combinations. That would stimulate a real attempt to build a perfect team and not a predetermined one.

At this point in the cycle there won’t be much variation as the collective has determined the top cards and those of us who have been playing actively from the start of the season pretty much have all of them whether we are F2P or paying for points. You may want to try to build a theme team to have some fun.

The trouble is that ultimately it's an RNG game, the format just doesn't account for anything more subtle despite the OOTP base engine. I've tried a lot of combinations to ease the tedium of my seemingly perpetual .53-.59 both in players and tactics, and a lot of them ARE 'playable'.. but, never quite AS playable as my default which is, of course, much the same as everybody else's, any metas aside.

I can't see any way around this when everybody has access to the same player pool. You can only really present a 'baseball' rather than 'card collecting' game in the same way the base game and real life does, with each player available to only one team. Any nonsense with NFTs aside - at which point the likes of you and I would drop the game as if it was an enraged anaconda - the format can't accommodate that.
