Stamkos Retires w/ No Number Retirement?
What constitutes a player getting their number retired by a franchise? Also, when will we be able to do this manually?

Doing it manually is an interesting idea. It would certainly add another dimension to the franchise management experience. Just imagine evaluating players you developed for the ring of honor and/or jersey in the rafters treatment. Sounds like fun!

![]() In OOTP, you can retire a player, retire their number and put them in the HOF. |

Yet being the key word here, as I do have have confidence in the current FHM development team that many of these features will arrive - it's only a matter of time. I understand we all want them five minutes ago, (at least I sure do), but OOTP didn't get them all overnight either. So the painful waiting game continues. But at least we have some really cool things to look forward to. ![]() |

Stamkos falls just short of the automatic qualifiers for number retirement for Tampa Bay, mainly due to so many games lost due to injury depressing his career totals a bit. But that seems to be a little too harsh, I'll take a look at adjusting the requirements a bit, maybe in particular for teams that don't have many retired numbers yet.

That said, the automatic qualifiers should also probably just be lowered in general. There’s nobody even close to 563 goals with one franchise who doesn’t have their number retired by that franchise - all 21 players who have even 500 goals with one franchise either have their number retired or undoubtedly will once they stop playing. (Sidney Crosby’s about to become the 22nd.) |

You can edit retired numbers for any team. Turn on commissioner mode and go to the edit screen for a team. Scroll all the way down on the menu on the left that includes team colors, rivals, etc. and it's at the bottom.

Right. I was thinking more along the lines of a GM/Owner doing it through the regular GUI, but as you say, commissioner mode certainly works as a workaround. |

Are you not able to do it yourself in commissioner mode?
You can edit the retired numbers of any team in Commissioner mode, going to the team dropdown at the top bar and "edit" should be at the very bottom of the menu. very bottom left corner, "edit retired numbers" |
