I've never had this happen before
Got a random debut going that I started in 1904. I'm using 1987 as my base year. I'm in September of 1905 and the NL race is insane. 4 teams, Brooklyn, Chicago, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are tied for 1st place. Philadelphia is a 1/2 game back and the New York Giants are a 1 game back. I've never had a race like this in all my years of playing.
The AL is a two team race. The defending champion Boston Americans are tied with the St. Louis Browns. Cool thing is, both teams feature players that could take home league MVP honors. The Americans have Stan the Man Musial. Stan is hitting around .343 and just went over the 100 rbi mark for the season. The Browns feature Jared Walsh. Walsh is hitting .352 on the season. Jared had a rough August that seen his average drop from around .375 into the .340's, but he seems to have righted the ship now. 87 is a wild ride. Lots of home runs. I'm enjoying it so far. |

Awesome!
If the race is still up in the air going into the last day, proceed with caution unless you're cool with however OOTP decides to break any ties. Not that OOTP will screw it up, but there are number of ways to handles ties and if you have a preference, you might wanna handle the scheduling yourself. Regardless, enjoy the pennant race ![]() |

I should finish year #6 of this league this evening. Using 1987 is turning out to be a wild ride. Lots and lots of home runs. Stan the Man just nailed 54 bombs in 1909 to set the new single season record. Harmon Killebrew is the leader in the clubhouse for career blasts and barring a complete meltdown should be the first player to reach 250. Musial and Killebrew have been Boston Americans/Red Sox teammates from 1905-1909.
I'm using strict, occasionally start the highest rested and so far there's only been 2 starting pitchers that have reached the 20 win mark for a season. Overall it's been a bumpy ride for pitching, especially in the AL(DH). Mike Garcia looks like he has a pretty good chance to be he first starter to reach 100 victories. |

I'm kind of amazed how much the "hit and run" strategy setting effects the overall offense in a league. I might be wrong, but in my opinion, the higher up the scale you set hit and run, the livelier the offense will be as a whole.

It looks like PEDS must be in “full swing” in 1987. Yes, that was a wild era. Even Stan the Man (can I still say “man”?) got a boost.
