TRNDL
The Real NDL has teams open.
Long story short we ran a league for around 80 seasons and then about 22 of us started a new league from scratch.
We have mostly played OOTP and have known each other for a decade or longer.
The other teams in our league were set to AI initially, so they have not been mismanaged.
We wanted to get the league up and running before recruiting to fill it up.

We just wrapped up season 3 and want to start to fill some of these AI-run teams.
We can list them but you are allowed to move them anywhere you want in North America so if you are interested in joining then let me know and you can decide which team fits best for you.

We sim 7 days a week and 7 days per sim in the regular season and 14 day sims in offseason.
Billy usually sims around 8-9 am CST. We do use scouts and coaches. Only ML coaches are mandatory, minors are optional.
We are happy to share any other information if you are interested, just ask away.
We are different in one key way.
We have had our forums for over 15 years dating back to NCAA football days and we still use them today.
We use slack and forums and chatter and league info happens on both.
We know that forums are not for everyone but most people that give them a chance like them and have fun with it.

If you are interested we are looking for people that are committed and want to be part of the league for the long haul.

I just bought the game and I'm interested in joining. I have not played online in the past 8 years. I used to play in a OOTP 6.5 online league before switching over to playing NCAA 14 online for years.

There may have been some updated rules but I would venture to say this is 99% accurate

NDL is a fictional league that started in the year 2010 (in game and IRL).

This is a daily sim league. Sims are 7 days and occur between roughly 1 - 2 AM EST. Offseason sims are 14 days.

We use both forums and Slack. We are starting to use Slack more than the forums but some elder statesmen of the league are not huge on using Slack so we keep the forums around. Most league conversations and business (draft, polls, etc) is done on Slack.

We use StatsPlus to draft and it is updated daily after the sim. Our StatsPlus page is located here.

GM Expectations
As a GM you are expected to export regularly. It is encouraged to export often however this does not mean every day but at the very least during important dates (ie. draftees added, roster expansion etc). Any GM who misses 4-5 exports in a row (a month in-game) will be contacted about their export record unless they have given prior notice about their absence.

You are expected to field a 26man (or less) Opening Day roster or you will be subject to a $20M Cash fine.

You are expected to keep the number of minor league players under the league limit (130 across 5 levels). You do NOT have to conform to the roster restrictions for each level (ie. You can have 35 players at AAA and 15 at AA if you like).

New GM’s entering the league will have their Fan Interest, Fan Loyalty, and Market Size set to the same values as a relocating team (which can be found in the Relocation section) at the end of the current season. At that time they can then choose if they’d like to stay where they are or relocate. They will also be allowed at that time to adjust their stadium with no fee.

League Format
- DH is active in both leagues
- Regular season roster size is 26
- September expanded rosters is 28

Leagues and Teams
NDL consists of 30 teams in 6 divisions across 2 subleagues (AL and NL).
5 Minor League levels - AAA, AA, A, A-, R.
AAA to R leagues consist of 1 division with all 30 teams for even scheduling/play.

Division Draft (Realignment)
Every 10 seasons, a Divisions Draft is done. This helps shake things up, form new rivalries, and stops one team from dominating a weak division forever.

Finances and Budget
Each season's budget is set to the previous season's regular season revenue and is rounded up. If your regular season revenue was 100,000,001 then your budget for the following season will be 101,000,000.
NDL uses a Luxury Tax. The Soft Cap is 100% of the average payroll and you are taxed 50% above that average at the end of the season.

Player Contracts
Contracts are allowed to have 2 option years per contract
Every team option year must include a buyout of at least 25% of AAV (average annual value) of the whole contract including the option years
Players are not allowed to be extended until they have 3 years of ML service time.

Draft Pick Signees
NDL automatically has all draft picks signed to your team for the slot amount. This prevents one team from stacking up a bunch of 1st rd compensation picks due to not signing their 1st rd picks for multiple years.

Compensation Draft Picks
Once in a player's career a pending free agent can be offered a Qualifying Offer. We use the average of the top 50 salaries to calculate this number.

Rule 5 Draft
Last Monday of the calendar year. There are no house rules and GMs are vultures so if you aren’t sure if you should protect a player…just protect him to be safe.

Player Nicknames
Adding, removing, or changing is FREE.

Roster Checks
The second or third Monday of May and August will be Roster Check days. If there are over 130 total players in your minor leagues your minors will be automatically sorted by the AI and the excess players put on DFA. If you are a repeat offender the excess players (and all others in DFA at the time) will be released.

Trading Rules
Trade deadline is the last Monday in August.
You may retain up to 100% of salary.
You cannot include Cash in a trade, unless your team has the available - Cash On Hand to include in the trade.
If your team has Negative Cash On Hand, you cannot include any cash in a trade.
$1 trades are an exception to this rule.
You cannot trade a newly signed Free Agent until the 2nd Monday in June.
You can trade with stipulations. You can trade for a player to be named later. I will not enforce them. PTBNL players cannot be traded to their new team after the conclusion of the World Series.

All players, once the trade deadline passes, will not be physically traded to their new team until after Rollover has occurred. These trades can be agreed upon and posted at any time, but they will not go into effect until Rollover has occurred.

How to post a trade:
Team A Sends:
Joe Blow MR (A)
5,000,000 Cash

Team B sends:
Ace Ventura SP (AAA)

Stadium Seating Expansion
$5M per 1,000 additional seats up to a max capacity of 65,000.

Stadium Wall Adjustments
$5M - Flat Fee which includes both distances and heights (keep them realistic).

Stadium Name Change
This change is free, but we ask that you do not change it often.

Relocation
NDL teams are allowed to relocate every 5 seasons.
Team Interest will be set to 100.
Team Loyalty will be set to Below Average.
Market Size will be set to Average.
