Pitcher Ratings Reduced in OOTP23?

For anyone who uses players in older seasons, have you noticed pitchers are not as well rated in OOTP23? I have a project starting in 1951 and noticed a downturn in ratings for pitchers so did a replay using historical transactions to best reproduce that season. There were 5 pitchers with actual sub 3.00 ERAs and in 2 replays none of them were under 3 or in the top 5 in ERA. Here they are with their actual stats, OOTP22 and 23 resulting stats from there ratings seen when in "edit" and the 2 replays:

Pitcher Actual 22 23 1st 2nd
Rogovin 2.78 3.94 4.09 3.22 3.86
Nichols 2.88 4.48 7.46 3.57 3.90
Lopat 2.91 4.04 4.94 3.90 3.48
Maglie 2.93 3.50 4.18 4.10 3.38
Spahn 2.98 3.34 3.62 3.73 3.31

Just an observation.

I did observe issues with Eddie Lopat. Have seen enough other issues that I didn't think twice about it and just rolled through.

Playing single season recalc. 1952, ratings should be based on 149 IP, 3.74 FIP, 19 games started. On 1-10 scale hist Stuff/Movement/Control was something like 3/4/2 type ratings where he didn't even belong in the Majors. Left him on the roster for historical recreation reasons and you can see his stats in the image below. (6.27 ERA, 5.36 FIP). This is on a complete recalc league using actual players, teams, stadiums, annual settings, etc.

That was the most extreme one I have seen playing Single Season recalc but there have certainly been plenty of others where the ratings did not seem to match up with the stats they were supposed to be based on.

Have some hunches and plan on checking the database when I have more time in the hopes it is something there instead of a new inherent issue with how the game determines ratings.

You didn't mention if you were using Recalc or the Talent Development engine... so it may be apples and oranges... but I am def seeing stuff that looks bugged when using recalc,

I would love to start an Online League that uses recalc... but those are the sort of results that have other members assume you are cheating.

I use real stats recalc for that year. Maybe the third time IS a charm since Maglie had a 2.96 ERA, Lopat and Spahn just over 3.00 and although Rogovin and Nichols had high ERAs, neither were outlandishly so. The league totals were very close to the actuals, although a quick look at some individual stats showed quirks (for example, Mantle's 3 homers rather than 13, but that can be lived with).
