Pinnacle Baseball Association is Looking For More!

Full League Name (Initials): Pinnacle Baseball Association (PBA)
Message Board URL: Boards
Website URL: Website
Reports URL: Reports
OOTP Version: OOTP 23
# Of Teams: 30
Exports: Every three days during season. Every other day in Offseason
League Time Per Sim: 7 days
Current Season: 2030 Offseason
Constitution: Constitution
StatsPlus:StatsPlus

The PBA has just concluded the 2029 season, year 13 of a 2017 MLB quickstart. The PBA tries to be as realistic as possible, not taking shortcuts with several things most other leagues don't want to deal with.
  • For example, Scouting is on (High accuracy), coaching is on, drug suspensions are on (suspensions set to very low), injuries are normal, there are overbudget restrictions, and rain outs are on. Scouts create variance in player evaluation, coaches affect development, some players try to bend the rules, some players can't bend their bodies, bosses suck, and sometimes, it rains. These affect baseball in real life, and affect baseball in the PBA.
  • Both leagues use a DH to help mitigate some questionable AI decisions.
  • Ratings are 1-10
  • Draft picks and recently drafted players can be traded.
  • If a team goes more than $5 million over budget, they have two months to get under or face adjustments to their draft and scouting budgets in future years.
  • Five foreign leagues run in the background.
  • There are cosmetic rewards (nicknames, minor league stadium name changes) for those who are active writers in the league
  • Finally, we use Slack to communicate and use StatsPlus to draft and trade.

To allow GMs the experience of taking in the full scope of the league, we sim every three days in-season with a faster offseason

If you're interested, the American league is filled. However, we have a GM managing in the KBO while a spot opens up. If interested in managing in the KBO on the waitlist while the league fills, or even more permanently, we're happy to have you!

If you're interested, the league has two open teams:
  • Detroit Tigers
    Tampa Bay Rays

The Detroit Tigers were a respectable 78-84, fading out of playoff contention in the second half after a strong first half. They have one of the game's young, premier offensive players in Roderick Dalton, a 25-year-old who has already been MVP runner up twice. A lot of bad money comes off their books this year, leaving their finances in reasonable shape moving forward. They have a middling starting rotation and complementary hitters, holding them back. They don't have great hitters in their farm, but they do have three Top 40 pitchers, including the fifth overall prospect in their system.

The Tampa Bay Rays mostly had absentee management during the season and finished 67-95. Their pitching and defense were very respectable, but the club couldn't hit. They're a small market with all the pitfalls that come with that, and thanks to absentee management, don't have a great farm either so this would be a project. They have a ton of extra draft picks in the upcoming draft though, giving prospective GMs a chance to really put their stamp on the team and build from the ground up.
