Custom Logo Color Settings CSV Help

x-post from Mods forum because maybe it's a bug that this feature doesn't work?

I found this gem in the Logos readme txt:

Quote:
If you would add all these colors to a file name, you would get almost 200 characters plus the team name. Obviously, these file names are too long and they might even cause problems with the operating system.

Hence, we had to add another way how we could get the team colors into the game. We do this with an extra file now. Whenever OOTP imports a logo for a team, it will now look for a file that has the same name as the logo file plus a suffix "_color_settings.csv". If such a file exists, it will be imported and the colors will be used to determine the team colors.

Here's the content of an example file:

City,Name,Notes,From,To,T1,T2,C1H,C2H,C3H,C1A,C2A, C3A,J1H,J2H,J3H,J1A,J2A,J3A,P1H,P2H,P3H,P1A,P2A,P3 A

Atlanta,Braves,Historical logo,2007,2011,AE0101,AE0101,AE0101,AE0101,AE0101, AE0101,AE0101,AE0101,AE0101,AE0101,AE0101,AE0101,A E0101,AE0101,AE0101,AE0101,AE0101,AE0101,AE0101,AE 0101
I typically create logos and ballcap logos only for teams I'm not managing, so I've used the legacy hex colors in the primary logo files names for forever.

With the new color options, I am really excited about the CSV for colors, but so far I haven't been able to make it work.

Has anyone else messed around with this feature and had success?

Here's how I have it setup:

In game "Logos" folder:

Quote:
CITY_NAME.png
CITY_NAME_color_settings.csv
In the CSV:

Quote:
Line one: header data (i.e., "City,Name,Notes,From,To,T1...")
Line two: team data (i.e., "CITY,NAME,,,,HEXHEX...")
I've tried including the header line and not including it, including CITY,NAME and not including it, etc. And I can't figure out the right way to do it.

Once I get it working, I want to see if I can create a line for each change:

L2: CITY,NAME,,2000,2010,HEXHEX...

L3: CITY,NAME,,2011,2013,HEXHEX...

But that's a problem for future Will, I'd appreciate it if anyone can help me make the basic CSV setup work first... Thanks!

Have you tried using the example text, just changing the file name? This would check for any formatting problems you'd be experiencing.

Thanks for the idea! I went down an interative attempt at using the example from the readme. Here's what I did after each attempt listed below:
  1. Deleted the Braves logo from the team
  2. Changed the team name to something else
  3. Reloaded a default random generated logo
  4. Modified the CSV as described below
  5. Changed the team name back to Atlanta Braves
  6. Reloaded the primary logo
  7. Checked for the CSV color values

I started by renaming one of my teams (a throwaway team in a fictional game) the Atlanta Braves and saving a Braves logo in my logos folder (which is set as a custom folder, not the default).

Attempt:
  1. Copied and pasted the example from the readme into notepad as a CSV (including the header row), no joy.
  2. Modified the CSV to remove the header row, loaded the primary Braves logo again, no joy.
  3. Changed the name of the CSV to just "color_settings.csv", no joy.
  4. Changed the name of the CSV to just "_color_settings.csv", no joy.
  5. Changed the name of the CSV to just "Atlanta_Braves.csv", no joy.
  6. Changed the name of the primary logo to "Atlanta_Braves_2007-2013" [the date range in the CSV], no joy.
  7. Re-added the header row and repeated the above four steps, no joy x4.
  8. Moved the CSV to the saved game folder (created a folder called "logos" there) and tried each of the above with and without the header row in the CSV, no joy.
  9. Moved the CSV to the default logos folder (C:\Users\...\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 23\logos), named per the readme, no joy.
  10. Added a line break between the header row and data row in the CSV, no joy.
  11. Moved the CSV file around in the saved game folder: jerseys, ballcaps, settings, import_export, toplevel save game folder, no joy (using header row, header row + line break, and no header row)

So unless there's an iteration I'm missing, is it possible that this feature is actually broken?

Yeah, looks like it's not referencing the file, like at all.

Bumping this one. The newest patch (version 23.4.64) says it:

"Added automatic csv file import for defining all new outfit colors"

So I've got a CSV, set up like in the readme.txt in the logos folder describes, but the game still isn't importing the colors.

I've tried using the exact setup in the readme, a team name Atlanta Braves, a CSV just like the example, and nothing.

Looking for some help from anyone who has made this feature work... Thanks!

That feature was reworked. See here: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=340619
