Setting up a 1951 Fictional League

How do I set up a two-league 8 team 1951 mlb configuration with fictional teams and players? (no interleague play and a world series).

I don' think it's as easy as selecting the 1951 MLB structure for your setup, but if you go to League Creation Wizard and select Fictional League, you'd have an option for "2 sub leagues, 1 division each, 16 total teams," or "1 sub leagues, 2 divisions each, 16 total teams." (I'm not actually sure what the difference is between those two, but one of those should work for you.)

Then on the next panel (step 2 out of 6 on the wizard), you would key in / overwrite the team names to match 1951.

Various other settings to select - including interleague play yes/no, and naming your final/only playoff round as "World Series," but the wizard should take you through what needs to be done.

Please note I don't do a lot of fictional, so someone with more experience at this may come up with something easier for you

Good luck!

Somewhere is a list of modded schedules. Might be there.

Whether I try and start with a 1951 historical setup or a fictional setup, the schedules all have interleague games. Is there a "interleague games" checkbox that I don't see somewhere?

Select no interleague play - its on the tab about schedules, can't remember the name - and import the historical 1951 schedule.

Correction; If I start with a 1951 historical setup, I can't delete the real players that are imported. Normally in fictional mode I can transfer all the players to Free Agents and delete them, but no-go with a historical start.

Next I'll try setting up two sub-leagues and see if the "interleague" checkbox shows up, last time it didn't but maybe I did something wrong...

Create New Game > Fictional
Select: 2 sub-leagues, 1 division each, 16 total teams
Wizard Step 2: name your league, re-name your teams, etc.
Wizard Step 3: choose 1951 standard settings, assuming that's what you want...
Go from there, with settings as you like... Once your game starts you shouldn't have any real players...

You can delete the real players.

Make sure you are in Commissioner mode. Release all players so they are free agents. Then delete all free agents. Have to be in Commish mode to do this.

If you go this way, make sure you uncheck the box for historical expansion. Need to do this so that your fictional teams don't revert back to historical once you reach the off season.
