Moneyball Sim League

Welcome to Moneyball Sim League!

I created Tape 2 Tape Sim League -- a hockey sim league based on the software of FHM, another software by Out of the Park Development -- back in 2020 as a way to revolutionize the hockey sim community. The community flourished and the league was touted as one of the best in the community. I reflected back on why T2TSL was so successful and why so many people came back and still speak to it as their favorite hockey sim league. I feel a lot of it was the realism and the challenges it held, as well as the camaraderie we developed as a league.

Watching the end of the 2022 MLB season and the race for the Postseason spots, it occurred to me that a lot of us are drawn to sim leagues for all-encompassing involvement we have – from drafting a prospect, to watching them develop, to building a team, cementing a dynasty, and then competing for the championship. Can we capture that here? That is my hope.

Taking the tenets of T2TSL, I developed Moneyball on the same core rules and trademarks. There are GM paths to be selected and adhered to -- each with their own separate goals and challenges. This keeps the league fun for those who may be rebuilding or a few seasons off from a pennant run. With those paths come quirky perks and penalties based off your outcome -- the game within the game. All in all, it is built on the foundation of a community of simmers who enjoy a fun, fair, and laid back setting. Leading it is a Commissioner that knows we come here to win, but we stay to have a great experience!

We know we aren't your typical deep and extensive baseball league, but we are here for those who want some of the experience without the need to be neck deep in stats and ratings.
