Created Player not eligible for NHL draft

I've created a bunch of my friends in my current FHM save. So far, it appears that any player who elected to go through the NCAA route never becomes eligible for the NHL draft. Is there something I'm missing or is this just a bug?

In the player edit screen, are their NHL rights set to "Free" or "None"? If it's Free, they won't be draft-eligible; they need to be on None for that (assuming they also meet the age requirements for being drafted.)

I had the same problem, about mid season i changed it to NHL rights to none but player was still not available at the draft.

It was "none" - after a couple seasons I just set his rights to Free and he signed in the next signing period.

Oddly enough, the next player to sign in college ended up working in the NHL draft just fine. Maybe it was just a one-time thing.
