OOTP 1989 Upper Deck Baseball Cards
As a card collector as a kid, I still remember when Upper Deck changed everything in 1989 with its premium card stock, it's vibrant colors (front & back), and the Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card.
If anyone ever did an OOTP '89 Upper Deck, it is lost to time, so I made this one from scratch using what I had learned from my recent restoration efforts to the older card templates. For the pictures on the back, it was not possible to get customized player actions shots so each team has ten random home stadium park screenshots (showing off the great silvam14's work) to add that color pop that the '89 cards were known for. These cards also work with fictional teams. I have aligned the cards so they work with either "Indians" or "Guardians" but I didn't do any throwback Marlins, Rays, D-backs or Rockies cards. Those teams would be treated like fictional teams. They get the logo but the park is a generic one and not their home field. Maybe I'll get around to those card backs at some point. To activate Baseball Cards, go to Game Settings>Facegen tab and toggle them on. Cards can be generated per player or per team and award cards will be made as honors are announced in-game. The html files go in: C:\Users\xxxx\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 26\bb_cards\templates\ootp (or ootp-mac if a mac users). The .png files in the images folder get put in, well, the images file in the \ootp folder. Here is the download: https://www.mediafire.com/file_premi...cards.zip/file As of tonight it is also up in the Steam workshop. Enjoy!

Thank you for this. I love the cards in the game. A person who goes by BMW made this set back in 2010. That's a long time ago. 15 years ago. Holy smokes.
These all work great. Love them. Last edited by zappa1; 05-15-2025 at 09:46 AM. |

I do have a copy of every template listed at my wiki, including BMW's old '89 UD one, so if you're ever looking for one and the linked OOTP forum thread no longer works, hit me up and I'll get it posted at my site. It's just a lot of work for me to get them all up there and I have never taken the time to do it except on request. FWIW, the backs on yours are much nicer, although at 60+ MB for the file, it's quite large!
