Draft Prospect Pool Balancing Issues
Given it's a seperate issue from the one the other thread was originally created for, i figured i post this (very rudimentary) observation here.
I just simmed until 2031 on the newest Patch and current database option. This is on unemployed (not sure if that matters) with most countries first divisions as well as the canadian juniors and the NCAA selected as playable. It looks like this when going by Potential (consensus rating then i'd guess?), which you can see when toggling to the "skater stats" tab. Not sure if this way of checking/setup has confounding issues but anyway, here goes: Draft Year:4,5*+5*/3,5*+4*/2,5*+3* 20: 4/20/95 21: 7/26/113 22: 9/36/110 23: 3/26/70 24: 4/46/121 25: 10/64/135 26: 8/57/128 27: 10/37/71 28: 12/23/96 29: 11/13/72 30: 14/23/71 31:10/16/67 I included the 20-22 draft logs as a reference, i looked those up in 2025, all others in 2031. As said, this might not have been the perfect way to check them but alas ... But even with these caveats it seems clear that the 24 and especially the 25 and 26 drafts, rather than the 23 draft, now seem definitely very 'OP' in terms of NHL calibre prospects to the point hardly anybody is below 2,5* potential while game generated Drafts might be a bit heavy at the very high end and a bit shallow in terms of 3,5-4* potential and below. But overall it seems better than i remember from FHM 7 and seems sth that's ultimately pretty fixable for future updates i hope or even by oneself by randomly downgrading 14-16 year olds with fitered potential between 2,5 and 4* at the start and bank on your shoddy memory to forget which once you did (or hang a shirt strategically over your screen to block out the name on the left and at the top ![]() |
