Players asking for very high contracts

I have now a 36-years old veteran, who is asking 14,7 mil. for 1 season.

He was a star and is still valuable member of my team, but this is simply too much.

And when he was on his peak, he asked for 17 mil. / season.

Ok, lets face it. Maybe there are such situations in real life.

But the issue here is, in this game i cant offer him a salary lets say 5 mil bellow his demands. The button isnt active.

Have you tried hitting "meet demand," then editing manually to match what you want to offer?

Yeah, i did. But never ever will the player accept such offer.

What's your GM Negotiation rating? If that's too low it will be near impossible to talk players down very much.
