Future Of OOTP FOr ME

I have died a slow death in 20+years with OOTP. I got scolded HARD and was given 2 penalty points against me for saying the merger was not good & will probably turn it something the OOTP hadn't intended it to be. Be smart too. This game is inching so close to not having the brilliance of Markus & the OOTP Team 20+ years of work when there name and influence with not be needed anymore. I have a feeling that PT will rise it's ugly head out even more and the ability to create, replay leagues will be shelved & any person over the last 20+ years involved with the creation of this game will be scrubbed from the records. This is my last year playing PT and hopefully the league creation will still be available, that is if I haven't found a reasonable substituion. I imagine the other Baseball Simulations are jumping with joy at what is happening here at OOTP. Well it's been awesome for the past 20+ years but the changes coming is not something I want to be part of, unless the original owners regain full control....I hope everyone finds peace with the new version of OOTP that'll be in full effect with 3-5 years. Goodbye and Good Luck to everyone I met here even the ones I rubbed wrong....Peace And Love....I only got a few months left here....or less

I guess I'm living under a rock because OOTP is just as much fun for me as it's ever been. I know there are a lot of improvements that could be made, but I enjoy the game as much as I ever have. And I don't see any reason to think the ability to replay seasons or create leagues or do anything else that's part of the "core game" is going to disappear and the game is only going to be PT.

Just take a look at how active this forum is compared to the PT forum. Here, every thread on the first page has had a reply in the past 11 days. In the PT forum, the threads at the bottom of the page haven't had replies since before Christmas. It would be business suicide to turn the game into PT only.

There is zero evidence that the core game is going to go away and PT will take over. Every year since PT was created, the core game has still gotten a lot of attention.

Didn't they say that without PT they wouldn't have been able to afford the MLB license? You know, the license that directly impacts the most used feature of the game?

But you go ahead creating this false narrative.

While I think the game is as good as it's ever been and soon to get even better, very few people that are serious PT players come within 10,000 miles of something as antiquated as an Internet forum.

Honestly, I personally, have not been affected by any of the "changes" that have taken place since OOTP changed owners.

I don't play PT, nor have I ever tried to play PT, nor will I ever try to play PT. While I understand some folks are rightfully upset that certain foreign leagues are no longer licensed, I must admit that I have never started any leagues other than the MLB. My understanding is that the MLB license is safe for the foreseeable future.

I upgrade OOTP every year, and plan to do so this year.
