Looks like he's asking for too much money. What kind of success did you have? To me he shouldn't be renewed at this price, although he makes a lot of money already and it looks like you have the maneuvre space to deal with such a rise.

12 million per year is Nathan MacKinnon or Connor McDavid type of money. So...... no, the guy is not worth that much. By the way, how much is MacKinnon or McDavid making in your league? Good to have that reference.

I mean it looks like he had a pretty good year, but I'd say $12 million is indeed a bit steep. He's a core building block though and it is only two years, so you could try to talk him down a little and sign him. Then if he continues to put up points and have that kind of plus/minus resign him again maybe.

Most 5-star caliber players in the game are eventually going to ask for 10-12 million. I'd say it boils down to where your team is cap wise and if you're trying to rebuild or continue a dynasty. Like I said, Debrincat is a pretty young player still and can be part of the core of a rebuild or if you really need the cap space a good trade piece to possibly get an equal talent at a cheaper price hopefully.
