Help me decide
Got a new random debut league started. League starts in 1901 with real teams. Will let league follow MLB history in terms of teams, expansion etc. I am using free agency though. Also have both leagues using the DH. Using high fatigue for position players and have rotations set to strict occasionally start the highest rested(I usually prefer always start the highest rested, but decided to try something different). I did change closer usage from rarely to sometimes.
What I'm trying to decide is whether I should keep things 1970 evert season in terms of modifiers or should I use a series of years as modifiers to spice things up a bit. Thinking 1970-1976 might be fun. The first 7 years would cycle 1970-1976. Starting with the 8 season, I would used a random number generator to select a year to use 70-76. Another option is to use 1970-1979. Not sure about doing this though, as 1977 is such a crazy outlier year in terms of home runs. What are your thoughts? |

I use 1976 permanently when I want to keep offense on a leash, 78 to or 1983 when I want just a bit more, 1985 when I want more. I don't go 1968, nor the steroid seasons. Not sure if that is helpful.
