Hello,

Just need some help in understanding how player salary retention works. I am getting something wrong.

I am playing as the blackhawks in year 1. I am shopping around Toews but it will not let me retain any salary. What would be causing this issue? or why am I not able to retain any of his salary?

When you're shopping, you can't retain. That only works when doing a manual trade offer.
