For those who play as GM/Mgr of MLB team....

I'm playing the 2023 season as GM/Mgr of the the 2023 Texas Rangers. My owners goal was......don't completely suck!

Has anyone playing in this mode had similar circumstances ?
How about season totals for wins/HR's/etc.?
Is there a team /player dominating your league?

The Rangers are 53 up and 47 down. Quite the surprise for me.
I took Texas because their catcher, Heim, is from the Buffalo area.

As a true life Rangers fan….past years I’ve always taken them because they have been a bit of a challenge. This year though….to keep with challenges I’ve decided to use the Athletics. Boy what a challenge are they turning out to be

I think they may have a couple of Rangers maybe rated too low. Ie Heim and Taveras

In my league the Rangers placed Taveras on waiver end of April and I picked him up for my A’s team. He has been doing pretty well. With the Rangers he was .214 in only a dozen games. Since I have him he has hit .320 as leadoff with 5 SB

I’m approaching end of May and sitting 23-33 (8.5) behind first place Rangers at 30-23

In my league the Rangers are hitting .253 with 71 HR as a team. Team ERA is 3.24. DeGrom healthy and is crushing it 11 starts 7-0 with 1.67 ERA in 86 IP with 111 K’s and only 13 BB

I always use the Texas Rangers and I noticed in my most recent save with the latest roster is that the team struggled and I finished with a losing record.

I’ve also simmed other times before and they usually miss the playoffs in the first year, even though they are one of the better teams in real life.

In 2023 I had 88 wins and missed the playoffs by ONE game. Starting the 2024 season tody. Sieman is out 4 months with a broken knee cap.
