Aggressive play in OOTP

Runner on 1st. Batter doubles in the gap. You are prompted "do you want to try to score (runners name) the ball is (deep, normal, shallow) the OF arm is (strong, normal, weak, cannon) and the runner is (fast, normal, slow) ?
How many of you say:
1.Yes, try to score
2. no, hold the runner

I ask this question because everytime I say yes, runner gets thrown out regardless of the OF arm

Depends on the situation. With two outs I'm basically always sending the runner unless its Shallow+Cannon+Slow since you only need to score about 30% of the time for it to be worthwhile. With one out I play more conservatively.

Agreed. Also depends on the OF arm and the runner speed, and of course the game situation. Even with less than two outs, I would give the green light to a fast runner; unless the OF has a strong arm. Average runner and average arm is a toss-up, probably not in a close game with less than two outs. The game really does give the runner an advantage with two outs - as it should.

I’ve learned the hard way to disregard what I see on the screen as far as how deep the OF is when he picks up the ball. That result is determined by the text, and the graphic may or may not coincide with that. So if the narrative says “ground ball into the gap” but you are watching the OF chase a ball deep in CF, disregard the latter and pay attention to the former.

I always send them with 2 outs regardless of arm. I will say it is amusing as all hell to watch an OF throw a moonshot from CF at Coors (Nimmo, normal) to nail Doyle (70)
