any news on new version coming?

With Spring Training about to start is this not usually the time we hear about the new version and a release date? I am hoping we can get our hands on it before March 20th when MLB season starts with the two games in Korea.

Historically, the announcement of the new game has come in late February with a release date in late March.

NEWS.

OOTP Developments announced today that OOTP 25 is one day closer to release than it was yesterday. The team also said there will be multiple refinements in the new version. As with past initial releases, the new version will include previously unseen bugs. OOTP fans were thrilled with the announcement which is a duplicate of yesterday's announcement. In an effort to keep fans of the game fully informed and engaged, this announcement will be repeated tomorrow.

Why do people use different players, different lineups, different strategy, development, talent change randomness, and the development lab, but judge the game on whether it produces historical statistics?

Also, a preorder has traditionally come with a 3 day early access to the game.

Don't forget there's likely to be a price increase this year

Don't feel bad. There is truth in that post. I guarantee you're not the only one who thought it was real.

How prescient of you.

The people who post call outs to the devs thanking them for their wonderful service to baseball fans should have to pay the increase for everyone else.

Well, there may have been a wee bit of inflation since it was first priced at $39.99.

Doing the math in the States here, $39.99 in 2000 is equal to $71.62 in today's dollars.

Henry Ford lowed prices as he became more efficient.

Which is why today you can buy a new 2024 Ford car, truck or SUV for a mere $260.

[intended to make you chuckle]

I was expecting a larger price hike to be honest.

I am still not that all excited about a new version given how slow the development of the series has been.
But I will for sure take a look at the new version when it is available.

It did.

At least with a new Ford I'm getting new parts that didn't exist in Model T days. Despite changes OOTP 25 is mostly old code I've already paid for several times. Even if you include new stuff that is non functional decoration.

Well that's the thing. The new version is of the most interest to people who want to play a live start of 2024 or do a replay of 2023.. I've never played a season more recent than 2008. So I'm certainly not going to buy at full price when the major change is stats for an additional season I won't play.
