WHL Playoff Format

The WHL Playoffs are using the NHL system (top 3 from each division and 2 wildcards) when I believe they are supposed to be a flat top 4 per division/no wildcards.

Nope, from the WHL website: "The first-place teams in the two Divisions in each Conference will receive the top two playoff seeds in the first round only based on Regular Season points. The next six Clubs in each Conference, based on Regular Season points, will receive the third to eighth playoff positions."

It's worked out to 4 teams from each division for the last couple of years, but in 21-22 the Eastern Conference had 5 teams from the Eastern division and 3 from the Western.
