Abnormal amount of 5 star players?

Something i have noticed in a new custom game that i started, there seems to be an abnormally high amount of 5 star players in many of the leagues in the game. I'm talking the NHL, AHL, ECHL, NCDC all have almost full rosters of 5 star players. Moving to the Norwegian, Danish, BeNe, and German leagues, there is again almost full rosters of 5 star players. All of the Canadian junior leagues i added also have full rosters of 5 star players. My one fictional league also has full rosters of 5 star players. These 5 star guys range from age 18 to 40.

There are however a few select leagues don't have this problem, such as the Australian, New Zealand or Chinese leagues, to name a few.

Does anyone know what would be causing this or how i can fix it?

When i created the save, i imported all the leagues except for the one fictional leagues i made, and i also selected the fictional players option, not sure if that makes a difference.

Just to rule out the obvious; are you running a team in one of the lower level leagues?

If that was the case, you are viewing players from your leagues values, so it would inflate others.

I started the game playing in the Australia Ice Hockey League, then took a job in the New Zealand Ice Hockey league, so both are lower level leagues. So you're saying if I was playing in a higher level league such as the NHL or ECHL, there wouldn't be as many 5 star players, but just because i'm playing Australia/New Zealand all of the players from the higher leagues are basically god-tier players when compared to Australia/New Zealand? That makes sense.

I guess i was under the impression that the star ratings were based on the league that the player was in, not the league that I (as a general manager) was in. I also haven't played many games with a large amount of leagues and league value variation.

Thanks for the help

Okay, glad we could clear up that confusion!

The star ratings are there to give you a quick glance of what a player would do essentially for your team. It wouldn't be a lot of fun playing in lower level leagues if everyone is half a star all the time or even one star... So it scales to the individual League.

Thanks for the help
