Need Recommendations For New Universe

I've always played as the manager of a team, but with 25 I decided I wanted to play as an observer. I've never done this, so I'd be welcoming to some ideas on how best to set up for this type of play.

Here's what I'm looking to do (as much as possible within game engine's abilities):

1) Start in 1901 with historical teams and follow history for expansion, rules, integration, schedule, etc. (though I may use an alternate schedule for seasons impacted by strikes or other issues)

2) Initial draft in 1901, allowing any historical player to play for any team and be traded as the owners decide

3) Variable entry year of players (is this an option?)

4) Players miss seasons they did historically for military service (still not sure I want to actually do this)

5) Introduction of World Series & All-star Game when appropriate

6) Reserve clause evolving into modern contracts

7) Full minor leagues (where applicable)

I'm not sure what else I should be considering, if anything.

Am I able to use my custom Facegen and uniform files from OOTP23 in OOTP25?

I've copied all of the non-stock files from OOTP23 to OOTP25 that I think I will need. Are there any glaring game options that I need to take into consideration before I click the button and start 100+ years of games?
