AI Signing Advantage?

I saw in my news feed that another team in my league had terminated the contract of one of their players mid-season. It happens often, and usually when it does the player is often immediately signed by a team in another league (before the news story is even generated) - seems reasonable.

Today I noticed a player was released, and immediately signed by another team in my league. This seems a little unfair that as a human player I wouldn't have even had a chance to see the notice and try to sign the player if I wanted to. Is it possible to put a delay in place for fairness in cases like this?
