Fictional Cities longitude and latitude

I am creating a fictional nation and have a list of cities for that nation, however I have no clue as to how to assign longitude and latitude to these cities. Is there any free web sites or randomizer that can help with this? Any input from anyone who has done this would be appreciated. Thanks.

could go to latlong.net.... lets you click around a map of the world and see the lat/long settings for any location... give an idea of what you'd want to do with your fictional cities based on where you think they would be in relation to that

The easiest way to do this without making yourself crazy is basing your fictional cities on real-life locations. But honestly, all you care about here is the weather not anything else since the game won't account for anything else. So from experience, I'd encourage you to keep it simple.

I thought it also had some affect on where players sign (how close it was to their birthplace or home), or was that just on someone's wishlist?

I once created a spreadsheet to give me random locations from a set area, but I forget what I named the file and where I put it.

I know this is a super old post but in case anyone is ever looking for an answer here...

I created a map and then super imposed it on Google Earth (not Google Maps) and you can just click on the map to find the coordinates. Its time consuming but fairly accurate.

In my case I added a county off the coast of Nova Scotia so it fit into the larger world perfectly.
